11 Aug Belgrade is Really, Really HOT!!! So was Malta and humid. (Thank you Heatwave Lucifer)
Belgrade is hot! Really hot! Everyday it’s over 100 degrees. The city doesn’t have as much architecture for me to shoot as I was expecting but it does have a few nice churches in Orthodox style painting and mosaics. Food has been fine and the night life is active also. There aren’t many Meraki’s here as most are traveling and in Croatia and we lost six people this week who dropped out of the program. We started with 77 people and supposedly we are now at only 56. There were a few people that surprised me that have left and others who I knew weren’t going to finish out the year.
I only stayed in Belgrade for ten days but knowing me that is too long for any city. So I needed to plan another short trip before I go to Croatia for Sail Croatia on the 10th of August. I decided on Malta because my friend Andrew has told me so much about it there that I was intrigued enough to finally take a trip there. Impressive is an understatement of this beautiful Mediterranean island. I rented a scooter for two days and rode around to both islands, the main island of Malta and the smaller island of Gozo My favorite area was Valetta where there is more history and architecture then the other cities but Gozo had some great buildings too.
I am here in Split where I will stay until tomorrow before a week of Sail Croatia. This should be fun. Me and about 15 other Meraki’s are sailing through the islands of Croatia. On my next post I will have so much to talk about. The sailing trip, my trip to Odessa, Kiev and Bucharest. After those countries I will be at 92 countries. My goal is to hit 100 countries by the end of the year. It depends on where I go in Asia but it will be tough.
