I have been wanting to go to Rio for Carnaval for many years but just haven't been able to work it out yet. My friend who is an amazing photographer, Widger, who is from Brazil, has been going for over 25 years. He has full access tickets to shoot on the floor and really anywhere he needs to go. This past year I asked if he could get me a ticket but that never happened, oh well, next year then. My friend John who works in Real Estate in New York called me to let me know that he will be heading to Cartagena Feb 2-6th so I decided to fly over from Bogota. The idea of being on a beach left me with no choice but to go.
