FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM @RICHARDSILVERPHOTO I am currently in Paros, Greece in a house run by Remote Year called a "Citizen House". This is where multiple Remote Year alumni get together outside of a RY program with other citizens (people who have completed a RY program become citizens) to hang out and party somewhere in the world. For Paros, the location is a three week getaway but I am only here for two of the three weeks. There are about 25 people in the Villas, three villas in total, on the same property, pretty close to what we would need on the...

FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM @richardsilverphoto I plan on seeing some of my friends this summer who I traveled with last year with Remote Year. Last week I went to see my friend Tim in Austin for five days. It was my first time to Austin, really Texas, which has such a reputation for being a cool place to hang and eat and I can agree. Most of the people I met were in their 20's and 30's, I did feel a bit old there (sort of like my trip with Remote Year). I actually did not use my camera during this...

After traveling for 1.5 years I am finally back home in Florida. I was supposed to be in South America until May 21st but I decided to cut my trip short for some personal reasons. My original travel plans from London were first to Bolivia then to Sao Paulo. Bolivia was to meet a woman that I met in Argentina in May of 2017 (we also traveled together for 17 days through southeast Asia in November) but she is now in a serious relationship so there was no reason for me to go there. Sao Paulo was to visit my...

As I take my 7th train in 2.5 weeks to Cinque Terre from Genoa (Genova) I realize how much weather plays a role in my happiness as a traveler and I think as a person. I’ve had some really terrible weather recently and I was very depressed and upset all of the time and I feel it is because of the weather. This also happened earlier in the year in January when I was in Hanoi where it was so much colder that I thought it would be. I enjoyed Hanoi but I know it would have so...

Arriving back in Valencia in the Old Town was a part of Valencia I have not been to. Last time I came here I only stayed and traversed through the newer area where the Arts and Science Center is. I love Spain and this past few weeks only proved to me why I feel the way I do. After staying for a few days in Valencia where the beaches, food and architecture is incredible, I headed to Barcelona for my third time. One of my other Remote travelers Colton, has a sister who lives in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona...

I am currently in Barcelona working on my sort of fixed computer. At this point in time I am unable to work on any of my photos because Lightroom and Photoshop just do not work on my broken/fixed for the 4th time this year Dell laptop. Keeping up with my photos is one thing that I have been proud of when it comes to my time management but this has been a total nightmare. Anyone who has experienced computer issues let alone traveling on the road for 9 months and two computers both new and both crashing a number of...

I hit Prague running as I always do if the opportunity arises for me to see a city on arrival day. Of course I have been to Prague before, once back in the 1990's and also in 2015 for the "Signal Light Festival". This time is different for so many reasons. First of all I am traveling with a huge group of people who I know, I had a visitor from NY come to hang with me for a week, Stacey (I will talk about that shortly) and I am here in the summer when the weather is amazing. From...
